Major General Masood Ahmad Azizi was previously an Afghan politician and academician who served as the Deputy Interior Minister for Policy and Strategy in Afghanistan. Azizi worked closely with international partners, including the United States and NATO, to promote stability and security in Afghanistan through the sustainment and reform of the Afghan National Defence and Security Forces (ANDSF). In particular, Masood focused on improving the professionalism of the Afghan police force, introducing reforms and establishing a police academy. With a background in political science and extensive international education, Azizi brought valuable expertise to his role. Azizi played a key role in peace negotiations with the Taliban and other insurgent groups. Recently, he successfully completed his assignment as Consul General in Dubai, maintaining bilateral relations amid challenging circumstances. Major General Azizi possesses extensive executive experience at the highest levels, having operated within the International Community alongside military and civilian counterparts, influential leaders, and senior representatives of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA). Moreover, he boasts a notable history of effectively motivating and inspiring individuals by presenting a compelling vision for the future and adeptly communicating and implementing it both domestically and internationally.
